Monique Castillo A&S '90
Monique Castillo is a Financial Advisor since 2008 and Founder of Higher Ground Financial Services. She is the mother of three emerging adults and holds securities licensing Series 7 and 66 for investment portfolio management. With the goal of being able to provide holistic planning, she also maintains health, life, disability and long-term care insurance licensing. Creating a warm and welcoming environment to learn about investing and financially powering your goals is the heart of her practice. Since the launch of her career, she has regularly conducted financial strategy workshops and webinars, including at Rowan College, The Johns Hopkins University, Women's Leadership Council of Gloucester County, Maritime Academy in Philadelphia, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (Special Needs Planning) and New York's ETF Global Expert Series.
Dropping herself in central China to learn Mandarin, trekking to Tibet and Uighur country, hitching around Cyprus and backpacking to the interior mountains of Brazil are among the many goals she financially powered her way to do while in her twenties. She strives to bring that financial confidence to her client service experience so that her clients know that whatever their goal, with proper planning and strategy, they can achieve it.
Monique graduated from The Johns Hopkins University with a degree in International Relations. She speaks Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and Portuguese and taught English in China as a Princeton-in-Asia Fellow. She served as a volunteer Chapter Coordinator and Board Member for ASPEN, an advocacy organization for those whose lives are affected by autism spectrum disorders for many years.
