Emily Dabish Yahkind A&S '16
Emily Dabish Yahkind is the Township Supervisor for Superior Charter Township in Washtenaw County, Michigan. She is dedicated to strong land use policy, excellent municipal services, and intentional public safety and security for all members of the community. She is also the Founder and CEO (or Chief Wine Lady) of SolSummit, a premium and certified sustainable wine company based in Ann Arbor, MI. SolSummit partners with family vineyards to support sustainable business and agricultural practices while providing consumers with the best-tasting low-intervention wines.
Dabish Yahkind previously served as the Michigan Advisor for CIV:LAB -- a New York City-based nonprofit dedicated to aligning resources across sectors in technology and deploying grant funding to mitigate climate change. Previous roles include policy work with the Detroit City Council during its bankruptcy, Governor Snyder's administration, and Quicken Loan's Rocket Fiber.
Dabish Yahkind is a graduate of the University of Michigan where she received her BA in Political Science and Johns Hopkins University where she received an MA in Public Management and certificate in Conflict Resolution issued from the International Peace and Security Institute. She is currently tied to Hopkins' efforts through her role as the University's regional leader and is a member of the University's Alumni Council.
Dabish Yahkind serves in a variety of philanthropic efforts. She is a lover of design and the outdoors. Her household includes her husband, son, and middle-aged Jack Russell.
