April Lugo A&S '17
April Lugo joined Allstate Corporation in 2021 as a Senior Manager for Inclusive Diversity and Equity (IDE). She ensures that IDE is integrated into the company's daily operations by establishing partnerships with business leaders across the organization.
Before joining Allstate, April worked at Johns Hopkins Medicine, where she focused on increasing representation and engagement of people from diverse backgrounds in medicine and healthcare. She also supported non-English speakers and implemented LGBT+ inclusive policies.
April is actively involved in the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) Baltimore Chapter, serving as the Vice President of Operations. She sits on the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, The Y in Central Maryland, and Maryland Latino Unidos. She also runs a LinkedIn blog called The Corporate Latina.
April's personal journey is greatly influenced by her Puerto Rican heritage and being the first in her family to attend college. Her Boricua identity has fueled her passion for creating equity and opportunities for women of color. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University and holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University's School of Business. In 2023, she was honored as a Top 50 Latina Rising Star.
