Patricia Browne Bus '07, ’10

Patricia Browne is a visionary leader, change agent, and expert in organizational development, with extensive experience in leading transformational change and improving organizational effectiveness. As the Immediate Past President and CEO of the National Children’s Center (NCC), one of the largest non-governmental providers of services and supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Washington Metropolitan Area, Patricia led a legacy of growth, excellence, and innovation.

She was instrumental in strengthening the organization’s commitment to delivering superior services while achieving long-term financial sustainability. Her leadership in managing change allowed NCC to remain responsive to evolving needs in the sector, implementing cutting-edge programs validated by leading industry designations and consistently meeting the highest quality standards.

Patricia’s expertise in change management, leadership development, and business transformation has earned her recognition as a respected authority in the field. A champion for creating effective teams and sustainable organizational structures, she is known for her ability to guide organizations through complex transformations, while fostering a culture of innovation and high performance. Her work has had a profound impact on both NCC and the broader nonprofit community, ensuring that the voices and needs of people with disabilities were consistently represented and prioritized.

Beyond her work at NCC, Patricia is deeply engaged in various professional, nonprofit, and community organizations. She is an active member of the Johns Hopkins University Alumni Council and serves as part of the Johns Hopkins Women in Business Affinity Group. Patricia is also a member of Chief, a premier executive women’s leadership network that connects and empowers women in leadership positions across industries. Her commitment to service extends to her role as Board Co-Chair of Maryland Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality services to individuals with disabilities and other marginalized populations.

She was honored as one of The Daily Record’s Top 100 Women in Maryland in 2018 and 2021. In 2024, she was inducted into the ANCOR Foundation Legacy Leader Hall of Fame and received The Daily Record’s ICON Honors award.

Her involvement in these organizations reflects her deep belief in giving back and advocating for systemic change to support the most vulnerable members of society.

A proud native Washingtonian, Patricia holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an MBA with a concentration in Organization Development from Johns Hopkins University. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Throughout her career, Patricia Browne has exemplified leadership, commitment, and excellence, leaving a lasting legacy of positive change both within and outside the organizations she has led.
